I’m 37 and have always suffered with PMT. I take Citalopram every day and have for well over a year and it was working but this month it didn’t and I came on a week early. I also seem to have horrific skin.. I used to when younger and this cleared up but all of a sudden my spots are back with a vengeance… some big sore ones and a general bumpy cheek all over!!

I am also ridiculously tired. Whether I sleep well at night or not! Sometimes by 11am I want a sleep!!

Does this sound hormonal?! Maybe peri- menopause?!

Coming back to this with another question…. I assumed this was just thrush but no idea why I got it as haven’t had in years and years but is an itchy vulva another symptom?! Sorry TMI but ffs what’s going on!!

Yes, an itchy vulva is a sign of perimenopause. How old was your mum / grandma / other old female relatives when they hit menopause? You seem young but obviously menopause can last a decade or more. HRT is an alternative to SSRIs as a treatment for PMS / PMDD so could be worth reviewing medication anyway.

This is why I am surprised! My mum was a lot older and my older sister (7 years older) hasn’t got symptoms of it yet!!
