Embedded IUD, Pelvic infection

Hi all, I am on antibiotics currently for the most painful infection of the fallopian tube due to a copper coil whose strings are not visible- its probably embedded. Hospital suggests hysterescopy without anaesthesia. No idea how long it will take for the appointment to come through. Even the IUD fitting was painful and uncomfortable, and the recent prodding and poking to try and find the threads has been hell.

Has anyone got experience with having an embedded IUD removed? There seem to be private clinics that use ultrasound instead of hysterectomy and remove complicated IUDs for £400. Has anyone tried that procedure?

So in pain at the moment with PID
