I don’t know where to put this really, i had baby 5 months ago at the age of 37. Since i had 9 weeks of constant bleeding, cycles that were 21-26 days with 15 days if bleeding fir example. I haven’t bled since my last cycle and now late with no pms. My mood has been very flat since baby sexually / hormonally. Very warm at night. Uterus checks out on scan and i just had my smear. Basically can you go into early menopause straight after having baby? My gp just keeps telling me it possible postpartum, but with my first i had normal cycles 6 weeks after and its over 5 months now

Are you breast feeding?

Gabby10 · 28/08/2024 07:48

I'm 32 (30 when gave birth) and only just now going back to a normal cycle. Like you I had bleeding a lot for around the first 12 weeks and since then my periods were all over the place, sometimes 2 in a month and other times no periods for 2/3 months. I didn't breastfeed but if you are I think that can affect it x

Youre not in early menopause its the hormones postpartum, specially if breastfeeding

I did intermittently for 5 weeks try to bf but he had tounge tie and i couldn’t get him feeding well. I didn’t have an issues stopping as my supply was low due to him being so bad on the boob. He’s also my second baby and with my first my cycles return after 6 weeks and was completely normal until i got pregnant 5 months postpartum
