Ovulation and rectal pain

Had a baby last year. Took us 2 years to get pregnant however pregnancy was straight forward. Ended up with c section. We are about to start trying for another.

I have noticed when I am ovulating I am getting spasms in my bum (actual rectal area). It feels like the muscle is way too tight when it happens and needs to relax. Physio said she thought I might have over active pelvic floor. It feels like a huge balloon is also about to burst on whichever side I am ovulating from it’s quite uncomfortable. Has anyone else experienced this?

My periods are fine pretty light not much pain. Mentioned it to the GP a while ago and she said she gets the same thing.

Have you googled proctalgia fugax? It might be relevant, but it’s not related to my period, I just think it’s hormonal.
