Pelvic organ prolapse suddenly worse

Hi, looking for some advice/shared experience.

I have a pelvic organ prolapse, diagnosed after the birth of my second child (who is now 14 months old). For the past 8 months I've had pelvic health physio on the NHS, had my prolapse checked at each appointment and it has been moderate, nothing hanging down. I have been doing PF exercises since my first appointment.

In the last week or so I've been feeling more pressure below while standing up and today it felt terrible and when I checked I could feel something coming out, it has obviously got a lot worse very suddenly and I'm feeling so upset about it. At my last appointment (8 weeks ago) my physio said I was doing really well at managing it. I haven't been as diligent with my exercises recently but I have been doing at least some daily.

Has this happened to anyone else... and what was the outcome? My next appointment is in mid-September.

Thank you!

Yes! It has happened to me. I have a uterine prolapse. I now wear a pessary. It holds my prolapse up and lets me lead a normal life. Ask for a referral to a pessary clinic. Just warning though that it did take a long time to find the right pessary for me, whereas my mum's first one worked straight away.

@tumpymummy thank you so much for the reply. I have an appointment soon so will talk to them about the pessary. I've been upping my exercises since I posted and my symptoms have lessened a bit, but it is definitely much more noticeable than it had been. I think the pessary is a good next step for me.
