I’m having an awful time with vaginal soreness/itching. I have taken STI tests, tried every cream, moisturiser, had my hormone levels checked but I’m still so uncomfortable. I’m 42, had a hysterectomy almost 5 months ago but kept my ovaries, bloods came back fine (not menopausal). It’s not thrush (no discharge) but I have tried thrush treatments anyway. I’m just sore and itchy all the time. I do suffer with eczema so I tried a weak steroid cream which helps a little but not much. What else can I try? Could I still try vaginal oestrogen even though my bloods say my oestrogen levels are ok?

Following because same! I have no ideas to help though sorry..

Go and get it checked out it could be lichen sclerosis, most GPs won’t have a clue but ask for a referral to the vulva clinic.

You can absolutely try local oestrogen cream in your vagina/vulva. It can be helpful without you necessarily being menopausal. It's been a very ignored option that can be very effective. Hopefully your GP will prescribe it.

Thank you. I’m hoping my gp will prescribe it, I contacted them just over a week ago and they sent me for a blood test but no follow up, I have seen my results and they have come back as satisfactory, I will contact them again and ask to try oestrogen cream.

Try multigyn actigel. I also get very sore

You definitely need local oestrogen as well as your systemic HRT and don't be fobbed off. If that doesn't fix it do get checked for lichen sclerosis which is itchy rather than sore.
