Myomectomy for fibroids

Hi has anyone here any experience with this procedure?
I have suffered the effects of a rather large fibroid for four years now and had enough, appointment with gyno tomorrow and think I’m going to ask for myomectomy referral. I can’t have embolisation as my fibroid has degenerated before and the blood vessels aren’t viable.
i don’t feel ready for a hysterectomy in my 30s - I might want more children one day.
The gyno told me last time I would need open abdominal surgery not keyhole and seemed to be trying to put me off the procedure. Don’t know if this is due to cost or if it goes wrong a lot. Would love to hear of anyone else’s experiences. Thanks.

I had this in January and it’s changed my life. The recovery was a little rough but the worst of it over after the first week. Tbh I wish I’d done it sooner! I had hoped for key hole but wasn’t possible in the end, but I’d do it all over again if I had to, knowing the positive difference it’s made to my life.

Thank you so much for this! I’m so glad it went well for you!
