Worried about breast pain

Hi
A couple months ago I noticed if I really stretch my arms up that I have some dimpling and a dent right under my boobs, dimpling under both but a dent under 1(should say breasts are tiny, even more so after bf my lo and I do have protruding ribs!) and I’ve also noticed around the same time breast pain just in my left breast, which seems to be getting worse. Its def not cyclical. I’ve got a Drs apt booked for a weeks time but I’m driving myself mad with what google is telling me in the meantime and would love to know if anyone has had the same.

How old are you? I’ve always had cyclical breast pain before my period, but this one time in my early 40s the pain switch just got stuck in the “on” position. The pain didn’t go away when my period started or when it ended. The painful breast swelled up.

I went to the doctor, we tried antibiotics in case it was an infection, when that didn’t help I was referred for a mammogram. That was clear, the specialist said it was hormonal pain and swelling, and I should use Ibuleve gel on the skin.

The pain continued for a few months and then it eased off and went back to the normal cyclical pain before periods. My breast went back to normal size. Still no idea what it was but obviously hormone related. You do need to get checked but don’t panic.

Thanks @Octarion I’m glad you got sorted and it was nothing to worry about, hopefully it’s hormonal or muscular or something like that for me too, I’m 40.
Weirdly sometimes I feel it in my armpit/ my side so I do wonder if its muscular. Saying that it was definitely worse the day before my period so tbh at this point I’m clueless! Hopefully the Dr will shed some light and all will be ok. Trying to stop thinking about it too much until I see her. You really can worry yourself sick can’t you!

I did worry myself sick. Worried so much that I caused gastritis. Then I was sick for months and had to get treatment for gastritis. Don’t do what I did! The specialist told me early stage cancer isn’t painful, pain meant it was likely to be hormonal.
