I am utterly disgusted in myself words can’t even describe - I have had the biggest breakdown this morning. I have always weighed 11 stone but since being pregnant then now having a 3 year old the weight has just creeped up and up… I am now 18 stone!!!! This is really getting me down and I am hoping this reaches the right group of people to advise on what I can do to lose this weight. My ideal dream weight now would be 12/13 stone. I am aware on the things I need to change but does anyone have any advice on what I can do? I don’t have much time to exercise with working and having a toddler but I can fit it into my routine gradually but can anyone reccomend foods/snacks? I am a 28 year old

Ah OP, recognising that you want to take yourself in hand is the biggest 1st step. It's so easy for weight to creep up, and you can definitely get to where you want to be. How old are you? I ask because I think approaches to weight loss are different in 20s/30s than they are in 40s and beyond. Perimenopause makes a difference to metabolism. If you're 20s/30s then I suggest following a lady called Bethany Dobson on instagram, she's an advocate of eating 4 x 400 calorie meals per day so you basically never feel hungry. She gives recipes for high protein meals that are physically big portions and will keep you full. And she demonstrates ways to get your step count up through the day. Best of luck, you can do this 🙌

Sorry missed the fact you give your age right at the end 😳

Drink lots of water. Cut down on portion size. Don't eat in the evening. Snack on fruit and rice cakes. Fill up on protein and vegetables. Cut down on drinking. Get rid of processed carbs. Make sure you incorporate treats. Exercise when you can such as getting off the bus a few stops early, taking stairs not the lift, a walk in the evening etc

If you have a 3yr old do you have a step stool for the sink? If so, use that to do steps while you're supervising bath times. Anything you can do while you're doing something else means you haven't got to find extra time.

So, 7 stone in 4 years or so. Can you identify how it crept up? What changed so much. Did you really have to work hard go maintain 11 stone and since having a child feel unable to do that? Has your life taken a different path? SAHM now?

I mean, obviously you know you need to eat less and do exercise but w/o knowing what's going on day to day it's hard to advise.

Be consistent and keep going. I have lost 5 stone in 19 months.
Calculate how many calories you need to eat google TDEE and take 500 calories off.
Count calories & exercise. Log your food it's eye opening how high calorie some food is and how quickly you can eat a day's worth of food in one meal.
1lb a week is good, nice and slow.
Diets don't really work long-term you need to change your life.

Hope this doesnt sound offensive, not my intention, as u said you dont have time to exercise.. well having a 3 year old, just take them out more often, more park plays, go wild outside , this is quite the exercise too, you dont need weights lift the kids throw them about, children love running so run along at home or outside, play catch, play ball .. I'm constantly cleaning kids mess in the house too thats exercise too. But best for loosing weight is running so run along ..dance sing jump
