Hi all,
im booked in to have a polyp removed , I recently had a a camera and biopsy which was so painful, will having the polyp removed be as painful?
and any advice on coping with the pain.

I’ve had both as well. I did find the polyp worse just because it took longer (maybe a few mins). Like really strong period pains. Pain relief was discussed but more in the context of if I needed it I’d have to come back. I didn’t want the inconvenience of that so just gritted my teeth. But we’re all different so if you’re worried discuss your options first. The advice is sometimes to take paracetamol an hour before but I don’t know if that really helps. Good luck hope it goes ok

I’ve had three polyps removed and it was ok - uncomfortable but ok. They gave me quite a few local anaesthetic injections which was a little painful but then I didn’t feel any pain. Just a few cramps - not dissimilar to the original camera and biopsy. I was told to take some paracetamol and hour beforehand. Good luck.
