Hi everyone,

I've just had my test results back from a scan I had yesterday and it says I have slightly thickened endometrium! I've obviously googled and read the worst before the doctors have even phoned me!!

I'm 36 and had 3 children, does anyone have any experience of this? X

Met with the gynae a couple of weeks ago. He said based on my symptoms and the fact that I had already been diagnosed with pcos years ago he didn’t think any further investigation was needed. I’m “just” a heavy bleeder because I only get my period every couple of months. He said the lining varies in thickness throughout the cycle and that mine could just be normal for me because of my erratic bleeding pattern. Any kind of trauma can cause scarring. What type of delivery did you have? I had surgery last year and have very painful internal scarring. Inflammation can also cause pain. Fibroids, polyps and lots of other non sinister things could be the cause of your symptoms. I hope you don’t have to wait long for answers.

Thank you for your reply. I had a forceps delivery with episiotomy and the baby did come very quickly, my labour was insanely short. This was all discovered as we were planning a second ivf but my body and uterus never felt normal after the pregnancy.

Thank you. I have a repeat scan next week, so it's something!
