Hi. Hoping for some advice.
I was told in April I have a cervical polyp (when I went for a smear test) as it is hanging out from my cervical canal. It needs to be removed. The TV ultrasound didn’t show anything else.
I then waited a couple of months thinking the NHS would see me. How wrong was I! I have told my GP I have lower back ache and a weird uncomfortable sensation after I pee. It’s like pressure there, aching bladder area and feels a bit like a UTI but isn’t one as I’ve been checked.
I saw a private gynae who asked me to have another TV scan as the previous one showed my womb lining as 10mm and she wanted me to do it just after a period when it was thinner to ensure no other polyps in there so she could do a polypectomy without doing hysteroscopy.
I don’t really want a hysteroscopy. I’ve never had kids and small built. Smears hurt and so the propect of a camera is worrying.
anyway, the latest TV scan the sonographer said I also have a 2.3cm fibroid (Subserol?) growing outer uterine wall. She didn’t see anything else on the scan. My womb lining was just over 7mm so thinner than last time.
I am worried about the polyp. It needs to be taken out and tested. I also worry that the scan may say fibroid but what if it isn’t. I have symptoms but the fibroid is small so how can it be that causing aching lower back and weird sensation of fullness mainly after peeing. It’s been a few months of it and it’s worrying me.
I had a bit of spotting prior to smear hence why I went to see gynae. I’m 46 this year, reg periods and they’re not very heavy.
Can the sonographer say for sure it’s a fibroid. It looks like a black round pebble on the Transvaginal scan.
really anxious :/
advice welcome 🙏
