Thickened womb lining, cysts and polyps, urgent referral, reassurance needed

I had a scan yesterday and dr has called today to say I’m being referred on an urgent pathway. Obviously I’m very worried.
The scan says my endometrium was 16mm with a coarse texture, areas suggestive of cysts and areas suggestive of polyps. Nothing in one ovary, couldn’t see another. No free fluid.
Ive been on HRT for two years on and off because of heavy periods. A tiny bit of gel and progesterone but because of heavy bleeding the dr replaced this with continuous protocol HRT as she said I was probably not doing any bleeding naturally and it was a withdrawal. The continuous HRT made me bleed heavily every two weeks so I requested a scan to rule out anything. I stopped HRT altogether at the end of June as I couldn’t cope with another period and work at the same time. I’ve had no menopausal symptoms since stopping (I did expect hot flushes etc)
I’m thinking my womb lining might have thickened ready to bleed but no bleeding yet.
Any reassurance would be good, I’m panicking a bit now about cancer. Thanks.

I've had endometrial cancer. To reassure you, if it is and it's caught early, it's very treatable. 4 years on and I'm still fine.

I've been on the urgent pathway on 2 separate occasions for thickened lining and bleeding. Both times resulted in a hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic and both times polyps were discovered, removed found to be benign. They are super quick and cautious, which is how it should be. I hope this reassures you a little.

Thanks. As you can imagine it’s worrying and I’m prone to anxiety at the best of times.

Mine is thick at 21mm
Had a biopsy (while awake which was so painful) and was all fine

No other treatment needed

I had post menopausal bleeding and they found a thickening of the womb. Had a hysoscopy (think that's what it's called) and they found a cyst but no cancer. I have to go for a yearly ultrasound to keep an eye on the cyst but that's it. The nurse was saying that they will always check and it's a small % that turn out to be something untoward.

Thank you. I think there’s definitely cysts there and polyps.
Wish I’d never taken HRT, it managed the hot flushes which were awful but I can’t help thinking it’s caused this. I never took the full dose of oestrogen either because it caused breast pain. I’m hoping to get an appt early next week fingers crossed.

I had all of this but all wierdly disappeared eventually. I came off HRT so don’t know if that’s why. They immediately put me on a cancer pathway for urgent referral but that’s standard. Then lots of scans regularly to check it’s all still okay.

That’s reassuring thank you. I just had a full blood count done, nothing abnormal apart from iron stores low. You’d think that’d be reassuring.

Yes @BuggeryBumFlaps definitely worth checking. And being a small percentage is reassuring I think.
