Copper coil

I have had the copper coil coming upto 3 years now. I've settled with it for so long because I don't want anything with hormones in my body as I have tried other hormonal contraception and it has just never worked for me (the side effects). About 10 months of having it in, my periods started lasting either 10-14 days and this is still the case now. I'm getting fed up of it as sometimes I think my period has ended at about 10 days & and then I start bleeding again ! And maybe tmi but when it randomly starts again it's kind of pink. Like last night I stopped bleeding and now I'm bleeding light pink blood again. Is this normal? my gp gave me something to sort of control it but it hasn't really worked.. should I go back and ask for it removed or just ride it out for another 2 years ? Please let me know if any of you has experienced anything like this with the copper coil

Yes,copper coils can be miserable with very long periods. Ask to swap to a hormone one. The amount of hormone that gets into your system is really low. Most women get nice light periods once it has been in a few months.
Good luck.
