Tiredness

I'm 68, have 3 adult, left home kids and 5 grandchildren, who I do have most weekends. My partner works full time, supports me financially but doesn't do a lot around the house.
I constantly tired, to the point of exhaustion. I have always slept poorly but since retiring I sleep like a baby, which is great but I never feel refreshed or alert. Am I expecting too much.
DP wants me to go to the doctors, but can I visit my GP because I'm tired. My mum lived until 93 and this is what she was like the last few years of her life, surely I should have some energy.

Absolutely can go to see your gp. They will probably do blood tests for starters, there could be an underlying issue to explain the tiredness. What is your diet like ? What you eat can have a big effect on how you feel too. Do you do any exercise?

Walk the dog daily but that's about it. Diet pretty good but could do with losing a few pounds.

I would agree with pp and see your GP. Do you feel stressed? You could try some meditation on the Balance app (it's free) or some yoga.

Do you drink alcohol? If I drink alcohol it makes me feel so tired and lack of energy for a week.

Hope you feel better soon op
