Hey all I have been bleeding for 5 months on cerazette and now it seems to be getting worse with big clots. I'm trying to hold on until 6 months but it's getting very tiresome now has anyone else experienced this length of time bleeding on this pill? And did it eventually stop?

Thank you in advance.

Mine are erratic ( I am 48 so putting that down to peri menopause) but before when I started it years ago I didn’t come on at all and the bleeding at the start was fairly short.

have u been back to see the doctor. I think I would say after reading what is happening I would double check. Not every pill works for everyone.

I had this whenever i did not take branded Cerazette and was given other desogesterol /generic brands. So i would suggest asking for a different brand and seeing how that goes.

I bled constantly on cerazette after DD but had been on it for many years prior with no issues. I went onto a combined pill. Soon I'll have to come off it due to age and I'm dreading it.

Anecdotally, o don't know anyone who does well on it now and I think you would have settled my now if you were going to. Ask for an alternative.

I’ve been on cerazette for years and have not had any issues with it. I would talk to your GP about it.

What where your periods like before you started taking it? It took 4 months for the bleeding to stop when I started taking it this time. I was having extremely heavy periods beforehand. Which was the reason I went back on the pill. I'm 47 and most likely pre menopause, but my periods where still regular and I can't take HRT.

I bled constantly on these so I had to just stop in the end
