I went for a cervical screening today at a drop in session at my local hospital. It was run by the local sexual health service.
I’m about a year overdue.
They couldn’t get a sample. I’ve never had a problem before. They tried different equipment but they couldn’t get to my cervix because they said there was a lump inside me blocking it. She said it could be a polyp but she really wasn’t sure. It was really uncomfortable and I was bleeding by the end. I’ve been given an appointment to be seen by a gynaecologist who works for the same team.
I’ve had one abnormal result in the past about 20 years ago that was treated. Every other has been normal.
I did have an internal ultrasound in April which diagnosed fibroids, would the lump of been noticed then if it was there?
Has anyone had something similar? Trying not to stress.
