Posterior compartment: Within the posterior compartment more towards the left there is a hypochoic lesion measuring 21 x 8 x 26mm, patient found this significantly painful. Appearances may suggest DIE.

what’s does this mean anyone please help

Have you googled it OP? DIE stands for deeply infiltrative endometriosis. The acronym isn't the best really.

Normallynumb · 11/07/2024 16:06

Hypocoic lesion commonly means a fibroid. It could account for the pain when you were scanned
I'm not medical but did have a fibroid
I would make a GP appointment to discuss it

iloveallthis · 11/07/2024 16:06

A hypoechoic lesion means it's solid tissue so not for example a fluid filled cyst.

It doesn't mean cancer (although it could be) it could also be a fibroid or something like that.

I am not sure what the benefit is to you of this if you have no one to explain it.

Safa2 · 11/07/2024 16:44

So basically I have my appointment in September.. it’s the hypoechoic lesion that’s stressed me out but if it wasn’t looking cancerous wouldn’t I be under the 2 week pathway the scab was a endo specialist and she said it looks like adeno endo and adhesions … she didn’t mention nothing else at all

@Normallynumb did ur scan report say the same ?

OP posts:
Normallynumb · 11/07/2024 17:11

It mentioned the hypocoic which means hard rather than liquid filled( like a cyst) but my fibroid wasn't embedded in the lining as such and I didn't have endo
Try not to worry until the results are explained to you

Safa2 · 11/07/2024 17:13

@Normallynumb yes I suppose but the Andy was lovely surely if she seen something that was cancerous I would have been on the 2 week pathway but nothing like that was mentioned at all.. she was a specialist who did my scan … I am worried now tbh 😔

Oh and the consultant sent a letter as my initial appointment was cancelled and he looked at my scan and now it’s in September he said they seen Edno and Aden’s didn’t say anything else …

Conclusion: Appearances are consistent with adenomyosis and may suggest endometriosis/ surgical adhesions. No evidence of previously seen left hydrosalpinx

this was the conclusion on the scan report

surely it should say cancer pathway or mass seen whatever but it don’t

OP posts:
Normallynumb · 11/07/2024 17:33

Yes it doesn't sound suspicious to me

Safa2 · 11/07/2024 17:55

Yeah it jus scared me but when I think they are endo specialists and they see this daily they must know and if it was suspicious il deffo be on the 2 week pathway and I would have been seen sooner rather than September ?

Everintroverte · 11/07/2024 18:10

If they were concerned for cancer they would be upgrading your pathway and making sure you were seen before September. What you have described doesn't raise concerns for anything cancerous so I don't think they are worried.
