Breast thickening

Hi all, I'm 60, post menopausal.
Recently am aware that my left breast feels harder under the nipple area. No specific lump but if I feel it with my fingers I can detect a firm area about a third of the way across my breast ( 42E) bra so a chunky area. It feels a bit hot and tender compared to usual.Right breast squishy by comparison
Family history of breast cancer so I'm naturally on red alert.
I'm on holiday until late August so can't access my GP.
I'm in France, what's your best advice ?

I get nervous about things like this, so I would probably try to get seen somehow.

I'm not a health care professional, but clearly something is going on.
Even if it were "just" an infection and not cancer, it could proceed to an abscess if not treated.

Maybe some HCP's on this board could give more specific advice.

Hope resolves easily for you, OP.

I'm hoping for the best but fearing the worst. If I was at home , I'd be straight down to the GP reception and asking for an urgent referral. With being in a different country I'm not sure what I can do.

Do you have travel insurance at all?

Also wondering if there is a version of a walk-in centre because it might be an infection that needs to be seen quickly ...

?

Yes I have travel insurance and a GHIC card with me

Oh, in that case I would definitely not leave it until late August.

If it were me, I would find a decent place to be seen and get myself in.
