Post menopausal bleeding

Went to the loo, wiped and saw a tiny amount of blood. Panicked and ignored it then found a tiny drop in my underwear and decided to call GP. She did an internal said my cervix was pristine, could find no blood, there was some atrophy but what she did say was she thought she could feel a urethral caruncle??
She said I did absolutely the right thing because I'm 62 and put me on the two week pathway.
I'm absolutely terrified of hospitals, I've had a vaginal scan years ago just scared what it all means ...I can't concentrate it's taking over my thoughts:(

OP first of all don’t panic. I was referred via the two week rule last year and obviously you just assume it’s bad news because you are being seen so quickly.
There are so many causes of post menopausal bleeding: HRT, hormonal changes, skin irritation.
I have had a few internal scans since just to keep an eye on me. While I have a few things they are monitoring, including an ovarian cyst and a fibroid, they haven’t changed in size and there is nothing sinister going on.
As a lovely nurse said to me if you come in under the two week rule think of it as a VIP thorough check up of your interior decor, which I now do.
I was terrified when I first got referred but I wish I had known not to be!

I felt the same I spent two weeks in turmoil and I wish I hadn’t.
Please be reassured that it will be something far more simple than you will be thinking.
I have been for an internal scan last week and got reassured, which wouldn’t happen if I was sitting worrying. I know they aren’t exactly fun but well worth it.
