Urgent referral

Hi,

had a gp appt .. gp felt mass on right ovary ( and uterus bulky about the size of a 12 week?) ) she said I have a posterior vaginal wall prolapse. bloods all taken same
day and urgent referral for ultrasound, through the diagnostic community drs. Had the gp appointment fri, scan tues, I know the she marked as urgent.

ultrasound done yesterday, lady was very thorough and told me ( after I repeatedly asked she saw a very large fibroid was covering my ovary so couldn’t see properly and two cysts found on cervix. She did tummy scan and internal.

I asked if she had found anything cancerous and she said she could not see anything cancerous but it was a limited scan because she couldn’t see much.

as I was leaving on the screen I saw she had typed … highest priority referral. ( guessing her and not gp as I had heard her typing) whilst I got sorted. I did ask her again if she saw anything cancerous o even for upset ( so embarrassing ) and said why would I lie but it’s a limited scan I couldn’t see much. She asked me lots of questions .. day of last bleed do I still have periods are they regular an I trying for a baby? Had I had operations down there? Did I have a pulling heavy dragging feeling?

i am a mess normally I’m realty💪
But I’m so worried. I’ve got myself very very upset and spiralling. 2 young kids etc never felt like this before anxiety is through the roof..

ive had a lot of back pain. Bloods all came back normal.

anyone has this please.. urgent referral after ultrasound?

thankyou
best wishes x

Iv had multiple urgent referrals, 5 of which have been on a ‘2 week wait cancer pathway’
All been ok

It sounds urgent because it’s not yet conclusive. If the ultrasound wasn’t visible, there are other ways of checking. Bloods normal is good. Try to breathe. At least “urgent” means you’ll get an answer sooner.

Unfortunately it seems everything has to be put on urgent, you are already in the 2 week pathway from when your GP requested you be seen and you will stay on it until you have been diagnosed and treated. Whilst it is very worrying and there’s nothing you can do, it sounds like nothing sinister has been found yet and hopefully won’t be.
