Spotting/bleeding between period

queenroo · 25/06/2024 13:05

This has been my 3rd month of spotting between periods, just for a few days each time and much lighter than an actual period.

I've been to the doctors and they've booked me a blood test and smear test, now I'm freaking out that something is seriously wrong, my anxiety is through the roof. I have no other symptoms, they've taken a swab and the doctor said she couldn't see anything unusual on cervix but has anyone else experienced this??

Does it happen same days in the cycle? Could it be ovulation?

queenroo · 25/06/2024 14:06

Yes it does seem to be the same time as I'm ovulating, could that mean hormones? Thank you for replying

I have and still do. Tests all came back clear

Hi, don’t worry, it is really common from what I heard (not a doctor!) and hopefully others will tell you the same but do get it checked. It can be just something hormonal, peri (not sure about your age). In my case, once it was due to a cyst, twice due to uterine polyps. Ask GP also for an ultrasound or if you can, there are plenty available privately. I think if nothing comes out from your current investigations, the ultrasound will be probably the next step anyway. Don't worry. Just take it step by step, get it checked in case it is something like a polyp as it can be removed. All the best.

Sounds like ovulation bleeding and very common. See what your tests say but I really wouldn’t worry in the meantime. It’s almost always hormones being dickheads.

Oh that must be reassuring! I'm trying to not think the worse,
