CA125… questions I should ask my doc?

Hi All,

Pretty long one so hopefully you can read till the end. I’ve been having stomach pain and reflux on and off which I was prescribed omeprazole for. I took it for 2 weeks and although it helped the reflux, it didn’t help the pain. I also had a H. pylori test done which was negative. I went back to my doctor, she’s examined my stomach and she referred me for an abdominal, pelvic and kidney ultrasound scan and some blood tests.

Ultrasound found nothing untoward but my CA125 blood test came back at 52, my iron is also low. I am seeing my GP again tomorrow but unsure what to ask. The ultrasound wasn’t internal… should I be asking for that to be done? A CT scan? I know I have a fibroid as I’ve been told at almost every ultrasound I’ve had although weirdly not at the one I had last week but I don’t want to just accept that the high CA125 is probably because of that, especially because I have a family history of breast cancer.

I have been having issues with my periods and have suspected I possibly have mild endo and I am seeing a gynaecologist on the 20th July but wondering what I should be getting done in the mean time?

Thanks if you made it to the end ☺️

I'd fully expect them to order an internal scan, definitely.

Best of luck.
