Mirena Coil/Female Issues - Looking for Guidance!

Hey Ladies! Not a mum, so a little unqualified to be on Mumsnet. However, I feel like you would be the group who knows best.

I have had the Mirena Coil for 2 years This coming August and have had a few niggling issues since. For context, I had the Implant and was bleeding for up to 2 weeks+ so needed a change.

Insertion was “uncomfortable” (omg ouch) but after a few days of cramps, all okay. My partner has felt the strings a few times and when he has, I’ve had serious cramps and sometimes a bleed after.

I’ve then had stages of severe one sided pain, had it scanned and checked but everything apparently “normal”.

I’ve recently, after having the severe one sided pain, had a bleed which has been so so SO dark almost black that I was quite worried. Again, apparently normal. I also don’t get a period on the coil now.

Basically just wondering if anyone else has experienced issues, pain, the bleeding and any advice. Should I get it out?

Thank you in advance x

Just get the strings trimmed. It's likely that the reason you are bleeding is that your husband is catching the strings and the coil is moving slightly.

Mine are trimmed super short as I have a prolapse
