Horrendous period pains

I tend to get a day or two of bad cramping each month but can cope with some painkillers and a heat pad. I'm on day 2 of my period this month and woke up in absolute agony, from mid back to mid thigh. Thought I was going vomit, had to crawl to bathroom as I couldn't stand. Spent about an hour just writhing on my bed moaning, haven't experienced pain like this since childbirth. At one point my face and legs went tingly and numb. I'm 43, no signs of peri yet - could it be that?? It's starting to pass now, still alot of pain but I can stand and walk around. What's this about??

I don't think anyone could tell for certain from that description, but I had bad endometriosis, and that sounds like how I felt when I believe a cyst burst (that wasn't confirmed by a doctor, but I did have two large ovarian cysts). Definitely time to get a referral from a GP to be checked.

You need a referral to a gynaecologist via the GP.

Thanks both. Got a GP appointment next month
