I was wondering if anyone has been prescribed Megace for the above?
I had a bladder prolapse repair last May with a routine D&C and a coil fitted for progesterone. I was on Estradot 100mg at the time also.
The first result came back with Benign hyperplasia. I have had 2 more D&Cs since (the most recent being this March) and its still there. I'm also now reduced to Estradot 50mg.
Gynae prescribed Megace and I'm in for a 4th D&C in Sept. Brought the drug home yesterday, read the leaflet and the side effects and I'm very, very wary of starting it.
Has anyone had this prescribed for this condition? Did you take it? Did it work?
I am going to call my Gynaecologist tomorrow to discuss. I was surprised to walk out of the Chemist with it yesterday without a word from the Pharmacist.
I'm loath to go for a hysterectomy (I'm 51) unless I absolutley must.
