Labial tear stitches aching years later?

Is it normal for labial stitches to ache years after childbirth?

It's 7.5yrs ago. Doesn't ache all the time, just when I'm run down.

The stitches were inspected at the time and were healing fine.

How old are you? Old scars can play up during peri and menopause. Local oestrogen can help.

I'm almost 40.

It might look like it’s healed well from the outside, but underneath the skin there may be scar tissue that hasn’t healed as well. My episiotomy scar started aching after a couple of years, so I went to a pelvic floor physio who showed me how to massage it to ease the discomfort. I now do it a couple of times a week to break it down.

I still ache where my stitches were when ds was born when I'm very tired /sick /on my period. He's 11 this year

It's just scar tissue being scar tissue. It's pretty crappy but massaging it can help a bit
