Prolapse TmI

Went to the dr last week as I could feel a bulge coming out of my vagina when I went to the toilet. She said she couldn't see anything but due to other symptoms she would put me on some medication for stress incontinence and refer me to urogyneacology. She didn't say how long the referral would take.
Fast forward to this week and I now also have a bulge coming from my anus and I'm finding it really difficult to open my bowels. Went and saw a different GP who said she can see that my uterine wall is prolapsed and I also have a rectal prolapse. She said she will put me on laxatives until I can see a specialist as going to the toilet is just going to keep making it worse.
I don't want to take laxatives as I work in an environment where it's not easy to get up and keep going to the toilet and I'd be terrified of having an accident. I'm also quite worried about the fact that I can't seem to open my bowels. She said if I feel the prolapse bulge to stop trying to go or to try to hold it in place.
I really don't want to live like this for the next year or however long it will take for an appointment but I also can't afford to go private!

Not really sure why I'm posting other than to get other peoples experiences. I'm so stressed out and down about it, it's really affecting my mental health.

You could try a stool softener in the evening (dulcoease NOT dulcoLAX), that doesn’t cause urgency.
Whats the prescribed laxative? Resolor /Prucalopride taken in the evening makes it easier to go the next am rather than causing urgency and accidents, although I’d start it a weekend night to see how it affects you.
Lentils added to your evening meal could also help and prevent any straining, as can eating kiwi fruit with the skin on (weird but proven to help). Both are really good for digestive help.

I really hope you don’t have to wait a year, that’s awful 😞
