Can anyone help, this is rather embarrassing.
My partner is about to move in with me and I'm having serious anxiety about him possibly sometimes seeing my dirty underwear, ie putting a wash on etc. I generally day to day have a lot of vaginal discharge, in white underwear it dries to a light yellow crust and more obviously in dark as a white crust.

I'm certain I am healthy, I've had it all my life, I shower x2 per day. It doesn't smell etc, just unsightly.

Is this normal, would he have seen it before? He's lived with a couple of women before, we are in our 40's.

I'm just so embarrassed about this!!

Unless he's examining your knickers up close I doubt he would even notice or be bothered. Men really aren't that observant!

PurpleBugz · 06/06/2024 11:28

I've always had this worry too. Then the reality of living with a man has always been I'm responsible for the washing so thats never been an issue (lack of them doing their share more of an issue). I do think a certain amount of discharge is normal. The men I've lived with have never been shy about their skid marks in the toilet or pants so why should women be ashamed of normal bodily functions? Still I wouldn't like a man to do my washing I would prefer to divide chores so washing is mine and he can do the dishwasher or something so he's not getting away with not pulling his weight

embarrasinghelp · 06/06/2024 12:10

@MermaidEyes it's pretty obvious

@PurpleBugz it's horrible isn't it! My last long term partner I was the same and always did the washing but I've never had a bf leave skids so maybe I'm lucky!
I do have a coil, I wonder if this makes it worse?

Bump
I really would like some more opinions if this is a normal thing that men know about- or not.
Online it appears that men think it's abnormal and gross/dirty. I can't hide my knickers forever!

How about dark period pants.

In summer 2022 I really thought I had what was an anal fissure discharge (god the mess it left I even managed to mark an interview chair that summer it was grim) by early 2023 I was less in the know due to then using dark underwear.

I’ve a coil and still having periods but only apparent moreso when I wipe 4 days on as specialness of the coil. Despite being on the full pill. It flys in the face of naturally being left half a day trouble of periods previously to deal with as such. Not the coil’s biggest fan here. The stuff it pulls out just junk. Tempted to say pull it on the 28th should the no name ‘hospital coil nurse’ bother turning out. I’d rather take my chances with sagging skin than this rubbish. Long since hope a doctors waiting room is full to capacity when the Karens of a gp surgery ask’s why I’m not having a smear. Well should I after you place women’s health in the gutter for so many things.

I'm not sure what forums you've been reading but the kind of men who think women's natural bodily functions are 'gross and dirty' are really not the kind of men you want in your life. Hopefully your fella is not one of those.

You're worrying about nothing
But. If it makes you uncomfortable him seeing your underwear just rinse it under the tap or in the bath whenever you change yourself takes 2 minutes

I hsve this too, daily wet feeling from discharge. Fries to a beigy light brown colour in pants. Swabs for bv thrush were negative which I knew would be as it wasn’t a one off I’ve been like this for a few years. I have an ectropion so that might be making me produce more not sure
