Hi all,
I started HRT about 6 months ago. I take 1 x 100mg Utrogestan capsules per day at night, and also two pumps of Oestrogel.
When I first started on this the difference it made to my sleep was fantastic. I've had difficulty getting to sleep and then getting back to sleep, after waking, for years. My GP told me the Utrogestan would help with sleep and she was right.
About six months in, though, it doesn't seem to be working quite as effectively. Also, I've now started waking sometimes in the night needing to pee. That was also an issue before the HRT but seemed to stop when I began the regime.
Can the effect of HRT in relation to sleep and not having to wake to pee decrease over time?
Could the fact that I've been on a very gradually increasing dose of Levothyroxine over the same period be related? I started on 25 micrograms. It was put up to 50 after about 2 months, and getting on for another two months ago it was raised to 75.
Any advice on this would be very welcome. Being able to sleep soundly and not have to get up to pee was huge for me, and I'm a bit worried that it might be fading away. I'm wondering whether the GP might think of increasing my dose when I next see her in a month or so.
Many thanks for any help.
