BusyMom1982 · 04/06/2024 21:05

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has had a uterine polyp about 0.5cm. Having it removed in a couple of months- anxious that it is something sinister. I should add that I have had irregular bleeding - sone heavy.

Hi @BusyMom1982 , please don’t worry. Polyps are hardly ever anything sinister but just safer to have them removed at some point as I was told. I had one on scan 3 years back but actually during hysteroscopy they found another 2. Now I have another, and adenomyosis and other stuff so had to have an MRI this week to determine if hysterectomy might not be the better way forward. In the past I also had complex cyst removed. Most of the time all is fine but even if not, it is better to just deal with it and the right way forward. You are doing exactly that so don’t worry and try not to think about it. I also have irregular bleeding, spotting… let’s try both of us to get on with nice things and try some positive thoughts. And yes, I am also worrier, so I completely understand but look outside, do something nice and think of something nice.

I would refuse to allow a 'specialist nurse' to perform any procedure without local anaesthetic. Both 'specialist' nurses who performed procedures on me claimed a woman had never complained about pain levels before, and asked a number of times whether I had actually taken the ibuprofen tablets as advised. I felt humiliated.

@BusyMom1982 how are you getting on? I too have found out I have a polyp and fibroids, thickened lining and need a hysteroscopy. I'm v worried.
