Endometrial polyp anyone? Freaking out

I had a hysteroscopy six months ago due to irregular bleeding and womb lining thickening

A biopsy was taken and all came back fine they said it's pre menopausal as im 44. and I was given the mirena coil which has helped

However the dr said he could see a polyp so would refer me for it to be removed did not seem worried and he said it looks a harmless one so was non urgent

So I wasn't worried . Until I got my appointment letter yesterday that said "polyps have a 1 in 6 chance of having pre cancerous changes or having cancer within them"

So yeah absolutely freaking out. Ffs. I have health anxiety as well

So hoping for some reassuring stories where people had them and they were benign.

I have just had one (cervical) discovered in a smear which is being checked out. I have no pain or other symptoms. They are very common.

If you are pre-menopausal it is very rare for the polyp to be anything other than benign, so the nurse tells me, and it is quite straightforward for the polyp to be removed if they want to be on the safe side. I have an appointment for an examination next week. I am a little worried and am a few years older than you, but I am also pleased that they are being cautious.

I have endometriosis, have had an ovarian cyst removed and have had CIN1/2 before and loop excision and these have all been straightforward, so am hoping this will be the same or no further action will be required.

I had several uterine polyps and one cervical polyp removed a couple of years ago. All fine.

I had a large cervical polyp removed a few years ago. It was sent off for a biopsy, all clear. Try not to panic.
