Just started period delaying tablets and got spotting

I got tablets to delay my period for a holiday. Not northisterone, another type starting with P. Northisterone has worked for me previously though. Anyway I go away next week and just started taking them today (3 tablets taken) thinking that I would be ok as usually get period around 8th or 9th but I must have misjudged the dates because I just wiped and there was a little blood on the loo roll and in the toilet. Dammit.

What should I do? Is it safe to keep taking them and will they stop my period? So annoying I really don't want my period when I'm away. I could use a Mooncup and period pants but the thought of dealing with that mess when I'm sharing a room with someone else and supposed to be relaxing on holiday really doesn't appeal 😐

Thanks for any advice.

keep taking them as they are also used to make your period stop when you are on your period. I’ve miscalculated before and started a bit later than I should have. Hopefully you will be ok! Have you got a period app for tracking your period?

Thanks! OK I'll persevere. I've never used an app before to track it just mark the date I start on calendar and judge it by that but I must've messed up. Funny enough the last time I had got northisterone I misjudged it as well and came on early, fortunately it ended before I went away so I didn't have to worry and kept the tablets for another time but they expired. So I got these new ones. Fingers crossed they kick in!

I think what you’ve got us the branded version of Northisterone. Period app has saved me so many times as when you get longer / shorter period dates go slightly off! Fingers crossed it works!

Ah, the Dr told me this was a different one because northisterone has a slight risk of *something so I agreed to try this instead. Which app do you use? I just downloaded one and it reckoned it was due on 5th June! I wonder if the tablets could have made me come on earlier? Hmm.

*DVT I think she said

The app I use is called “My Cycle” by Neiman. It’s good as it has pop up for day most likely to conceive and gives you a reminder a few days before period. When you do go on period you mark the days you are on then it calculates the next round!
Doc knows better than me re what’s in tablets but they should work!

Thanks I'll check it out!

Hopefully the tablets work 🤞
