Antibiotics delaying period?

May has been a bit of a rubbish month health wise, resulting in four separate courses of antibiotics.

Usually my cycle is like clockwork, 26 days. Prior to the antibiotics we had been TTC - but stopped when I was unwell/prescribed the medication. My period is now 3 days late, and pregnancy test(s) are showing negative.

Has anyone had any experience with antibiotics delaying their periods? Now worrying this month has really messed up my cycle/ovulation - and no idea when period will arrive.

Thank you!

Far more likely it's your ill health that is delaying it. Your body needs to recover.

What sort of infections were they?

You're probably right, body has been under a lot of stress!

Combination of UTI & ENT related issues.

As per @SilverHairedCat when you are sick your body tends to delay ovulation (so you have a higher chance of getting pregnant) leading to a delayed period.

Illness and stress can both stop ovulation so it's likely you either ovulated late or you have had a cycle where you didn't ovulate. This leads to a late af
