Armpit lumps???

I'm 24 and about a year ago I started getting painful red lumps in my armpit. They'd come for about a week and then go again. I saw my GP and she looked and said she wasn't worried about it/ it just looked like a boil likely caused by shaving. But I keep getting them and I never have before.

I've been sick with flu/ some sort of virus this week and my armpits have really flared up. I've got a few lumps on both sides and they're so painful.

Does this sound like it could be lymph node related??

Yes, it sounds like lymph nodes. Leave them alone for a week, don’t touch them at all as you can bruise them by feeling them, then see how they are in a week.
Have you tried glycolic acid on your armpits?

Yes.

The lymph nodes in my armpits swell up if I have an infection.

No. Lymph nodes can swell but you wouldn't see any skin redness over them.

Are they small boils or ingrowing hairs? Or have you got hidradenitis? (Google it!) If you've got the latter then get back to the doctor, you'll need ongoing treatment.

I've had this recently. I actually think my
Deodorant was blocking my pores too much (was using Mitchum 48hrs). It's stopped since I swapped to a different one.

Thanks everyone. I'm gonna try changing my deodorant & being sent for blood tests in the meantime.
