Clavicle bone pain and swelling / Shoulder pain - possibly in perimenopause

Hi

Has anyone experienced clavicle bone pain on their shoulders? I also have a soft swelling just above the clavicle bone. Could this be linked to perimenopause?

Thanks

My clavicle pain, at the front, was vitamin D deficiency, although I had no swelling.
My actual shoulder pain started in peri several years ago and has never left. Apparently it’s common -who knew?!

Thanks @BrewingAStorm do you mind saying at what age it started? Do you have any other bone pains?

Thanks for the reply

That could be a swollen lymph node; they can be quite painful. Have you been unwell recently or had a vaccine?

Thanks for your reply @CulturalNomad

I had 2 viruses back-to-back December 2023-March 2024 (one of them was the 100 day cough virus that circulated) but I've been well since - apart from the neck/shoulder bone pain and swelling. No vaccines since the flu jab in September 2023.

GP is concerned as it's one side only.

Ultrasound was clear so an MRI has been scheduled.

I have read lots about this online and it seems to be a mystery!

I did have a swollen lymph node in that exact spot, but it was definitely related to a vaccine. I was surprised at how painful it was! Took ages to resolve completely but it did eventually go away.

Hope they find out what's causing your pain, OP. So frustrating to have to go through tests, etc.

My DDad has had fleshy lumps and pain in bones and it was myloma.

A blood test and X-ray picked it up, it's more common over 65.

It's unlikely to be that but if it is it will show up on an MRI and its very treatable.

Hope you find out what it is!
