Period after the pill

I came off the pill back in April and had my withdraw bleed as normal.

My first real period was supposed to start a week ago but never came.
I had all the symptoms (cramps, sore boobs, etc) so I was so sure it was coming and actually disappointed when it didn't.

I know this is probably normal but I'm also a little worried as I have PCOS so I'm unsure if the lack of period could be due to this or if it's definitely due to coming off the pill.

Bump... still not had my period :(

How long were you on the pill for? I came off in April 2023 after 20 years on it and over a year later my period is still not back regularly. Took me 6 months before I had my first one then not another one for 3 months and now I'm getting one every 2 months.

It is due to PCOS. Irregular periods and lack of ovulation are often associated with this. The pill masks the symptoms of the underlying problem, nothing to do with how long you've been on it. The pill also leaves your system very quickly after taking the last tablet.

I was on it for just over 4 years.

Really hope this sorts out soon.
They were never regular before I went on the pill but they were never this bad.

Just wanted to double check rather than going straight to the doctors and wasting their time if it was relating to the pill coming out of my system.

I came off the pill after 15 years on. It took a year for my periods to come back. Then after that they've been regular. I have PCOS.

That's good to hear that they eventually went back to normal.
