PCOS TEST RESULT?!

Hi,

can anyone please help? I’ve had my test result back for PCOS and definitely have it, confirmed by ultrasound. Unfortunately I was recently hospitalised for extremely heavy periods and clots. I was referred to gynae which would take over 14 months for an appointment. So I went private and have had these test results back, unfortunately I was expecting to be able to go into detail about the results with the gynae, however have now been told a follow up appointment for the blood test is £450 which I can’t afford at all. Can anyone help to decode? I understand the testosterone and insulin is due to being overweight but I don’t understand the FH or FSH stuff.. please?

There is usually an imbalance of Lh to Fsh hormones when PCOS is present. Many PCOSers produce too much LH and not enough FSH. It’s one way amongst others that PCOS is diagnosed. Normally these level are about the same but in PCOS the ratio is reversed so 2:1 or 3:1 is often seen.
