IBS or something else?

Occasionally, once every week or so I get a crampy/windy/dull ache in my lower abdomen and feel like a need to trump really badly . This can be quite painful and doing a poo can be excruciating. It feels like my tummy, just above my pubic bone is very tender. However once I've slept & I wake up the pain is gone. I've had this for years on & off and often can't wear certain clothes because I feel so bloated.

Since last Thursday this pain has been constant. My tummy has been really bloated and I have a constant dull heavy ache with an occasional spasm (followed by wind)that is really painful. I feel like I constantly want to open my bowels though.

I've not got diarrhoea or constipation. My appetite is normal too.

No temperature. My lower abdomen hurts when I press it.

I had breast cancer in 2021 so every strange thing that I get I straightaway think the cancer has come back.

I had a hysterectomy in 2017 but still have my ovaries.

It feels very much what IBS would feel like but without the diarrhoea/constipation that I would expect with it.

I think I need to get checked out by my GP

I often have terrible pelvic pain like that but my bowels are behaving normally at the time. I am diagnosed with IBS and have been like this for years. Always worth getting checked out I think. This is normal for me but if it's not normal for you then see the GP.

As well as seeing a GP, it’s also worth keeping a food diary. There may be one tiny thing that’s causing it, such as getting a coffee from a different place that day.

I suffer from IBS but I also have IBD. As I get older, I find I am increasingly sensitive to gluten. I had a wrap today for lunch and looked 15 months pregnant all afternoon.

The pain has totally gone now. I do think it's something I'm eating.
Definitely going to keep a food diary.
