I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 10 weeks ago. Hadn’t actually go to the doctors complaining of being tired etc, since I had my second daughter I’ve been tired all the time. It was picking up when running bloods for a bowel concern, constipation but loose movements when I do go.
serum free t4 levels - 7.1 (lower limit 7.9)
serum tsh level - 18 (upper limit 5.3)
I was retested last week and serum tsh is now 3.4 so I’ve had a text saying my meds and fine and they will retest in a year.
however I have really achey hands, feet mildly but not like my hands they hurt all the time. I thought this would go once I was on the correct dose, so now I’m concerned I’m not.
i noticed 2 other tests they did which they didn’t mention and I’m not sure what they mean.
Thyroid peroxidase 998 (upper limit 8.9)
rheumatoid factor 14 (upper limit 13)
Can anyone shed some light on what the latter test results mean? And am I being fobbed off with being told my dosage is fine if my joints are still hurting? Or could something else be causing this?
