Tampons with the coil?

Had the more a coil fitted three plus weeks ago to help reduce heavy, long periods, maybe even stop them altogether I'm told.

However, I'm still bleeding lightly every day and need to use San pro (pads).

How long do I need to leave it before using tampons again? I'm about to go on holiday and I'm gutted about the no tampon rule, I only read it in the info pack after it was fitted and would have possibly declined the coil if I'd realised. Typically meds and interventions to stop/reduce periods have not worked well for me so I was happy to try this - not realising it would remove my most convenient san pro.. I don't want to spend loads on period swimwear, I want to use tampons.

Any advice please? 🙏🏻 thank you

I've read you should avoid tampons for 7 days so you should be fine to use them

I was advised not to use tampons in the first two weeks after fitting. I bleed lightly on and off for about 3 months and did use tampons on heavier days, then by 4 months I'd stopped getting any bleeding, and haven't had a period in 8 months.

Ah so maybe I'll be ok by the time I go holiday.

I had a smear test a week after and the nurse said she wasn't sure, she thought avoid altogether, but suggested I book in with the Dr to check (coil was fitted at hospital) but I won't be able to get an appt before my holiday (and don't really want to waste a GP appt asking one question!)
