Hi Ladies, I'm due to have this procedure tomorrow, for a cervical ectropian, and I'm terrified! I'm not sure why, as when I had the colposcopy and biopsies taken I was fine, just a little uncomfortable. I think it's because I've been reading up, and it mentions that local anaesthetic could be injected into the cervix. The thought of the needle scares me, I don't recall having that before my colposcopy. Can anyone reassure me it's not as bad as I'm thinking it's going to be please?? 😊
Thanks

I had a lot a before the biopsy during my colposcopy and it was fine; it stung a bit like any local would, but honestly it was really nothing bad at all.

Thankyou so much for replying....thats good to know. Maybe I was given a local then before they took the biopsies during my colposcopy and I just wasn't aware of it. I was quite nervous so wasn't watching on the screen either. That's reassuring as it wasn't so bad x
