Breast Cyst- no ultrasound offered

Hi everyone, I have recently discovered a breast cyst and was promptly treated at GPs with a course of antibiotics which has reduced the pain/infection and the cyst size. However, it's still there and I was told it could take a while to go, if at all.
I have a follow up appointment at the GPs but they were very against sending me for an ultrasound as it's not necessary?

Would you push for one? It's still causing me anxiety worrying about. Or is this standard treatment. Thank you.

I would push for an ultrasound yes. Better safe than sorry.

depends entirely on what you mean by 'breast cyst'. A skin cyst that happens to be over the breast probably doesn't need imaging if the infection resolves with antibiotics. A cyst in the breast tissue would be difficult to diagnose without imaging (so presumably that's not what the GP thought it was).

It's a cyst under the skin, it has reduced in size with antibiotics, but it's still there.

They think it was an abscess, red and hot on top of the skin, which is why they treated it. However, they said the lump will probably stay and take a while to go. But no need to scan it.
