Deep Infiltrating Endo and Lap

After eight years of symptoms and 4 years of secondary infertility, an MRI picked up stage 4 endometriosis. My ovaries are kissing, and I have blocked tubes.

My consultant has recommended having a minor operation first to sort my tubes and ovaries out, as because my endo is severe, I would have to be seen at a specialist centre, which can take up to two years.

I'm also approaching 40, so this will be my last shot of fertility.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and had positive results? I'm so fed up of feeling fatigued. I can push through most days and get on with life as ‘normal’ except for a couple of days when my periods come, as they are ridiculously heavy, which I think may be because of my adenomyosis.
I would go privately with my health insurance, but because I had been investigated for heavy periods before, they may class this as a pre-existing condition. How bloody ridiculous!
Has anybody been in a similar situation? TIA Flowers

I was only diagnosed with Endo in 2023 after 19 years of symptoms including 4.5 years of 'unexplained infertility'. My ovaries' are kissing also - i was lucky enough to have a HSG done which helped clear a blockage i had in my tubes and got pregnant the next cycle.

if you can do it privately, do it as you said last short of fertility. sending good vibes your way!

Hi , hope you don’t mind sharing but was the endometriosis visible on the MRI ? Was it shown on the MRI . I’m assuming the MRI was off your abdominal and pelvis area ? And also was the MRI done with a contrast dye or without . As I’m in the same situation awaiting for surgery but have never had a MRi to confirm if I have endo or not . Doc just put me on waiting list for lascropy . My NHS gp not any help at all.

How are you - how are things?

Laparoscopy is what shows endo

Its often not shown on anything else
