Blood in urine

A recent urine dip showed high blood in urine, I was prescribed 3 days of antibiotics.

ive finished the course but the blood is still showing on the test. I’m starting to worry as I have no symptoms and dr Google seems to point to something serious if not UTI. Has anyone had this?

Could be many things, when are you seeing the doctor again?

Hey, I have this, mine is blood on wiping every few weeks though I can't be absolutely certain where the blood is coming from as I spot continuously on the coil. Have you been back to the GP?

Riverlee · 10/05/2024 22:29

Go back to the gp or pharmacy .

You can be asymptomatic with a UTI. Blood in the dip means the sample needs be sent to the lab for culture. Antibiotics wouldn't necessarily kill the infection if they weren't the correct ones for the specific bacteria hence the importance of a culture to test for the type. Go back to the gp and give in a sample, request is sent off. I wouldn't worry unduly at the moment

Just found this thread while looking for info as I have a similar question.

How did you get on OP?

PearlsAndPlants · 29/06/2024 07:43

@MrWatzisname no reason was found for the blood 😑but doctors don’t seem concerned. I’ve had bloods, ultrasound & urine culture and all came back fine so I don’t really have much of an update. Sorry it isn’t much help.

Thank you OP. That's good news in itself. "No news" is good news 🤞🤞🤞

Yes pure blood in the urine Nov 23 white blood cells around the time were mentioned by GP as low.

sadly turned down urology as believed gynae would do right. (((Wrong)))

2 months after hysteroscopy I had a colonoscopy with biopsies taken (no thanks to gynae)

I was discharged March 24 as no fibroid after going through above procedure ‘out of it’ but a later private scan didn’t have to dig to find a fibroid slightly grown.

Doublethecuddles · 02/07/2024 21:38

I have bright red blood in my urine and least 3 times a week, usually after running. After having a scan it was discovered that I have kidney stones which i am waiting to have blasted. If I drink too much liquid is a short period of time I also get bad flank pain.
Hope you get to the bottom of the blood.
