Good Afternoonim 9 weeks pregnant I have started wanting to drink full fat coke but the only one I could find is 330ml can I drink all of it or half or I shouldn't drink it?

You can drink it all.

CountingCrones · 02/05/2024 13:10

What are you concerned about, OP?

Caitlin12x · 02/05/2024 13:11

Okay thank you!! 💚

There's no fat in coke - but there is sugar - is this something you are worried about, or that it is too much caffeine?

MaryBeardsShoes · 02/05/2024 13:13

OP just means the normal not diet, not zero version of coke. It’s a pretty common short hand for it.

ranchdressing · 02/05/2024 13:23

AHHHHHHHHH
There is nothing I hate more in the world than when people say 'full fat' coke. It's not MILK!!!!!

rileyy · 02/05/2024 13:32

What the hell is “full fat” coke? 😂

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 02/05/2024 13:34

Gosh no, you can't drink Coke while pregnant!

You can only have water & milk! All that sugar! 😱

Iwerbe · 02/05/2024 13:35

Yes, you can. Might give you heartburn though

Caitlin12x · 02/05/2024 13:36

Just caffeine as I can't have zero as it can increase my cerebral fluid in brain x

Actually full sugar coke is the lowest of the brown sodas for caffeine as well. So if you want one, then I’d crack on

Peonies12 · 02/05/2024 13:37

If it’s the caffeine you’re worried about then fine as long as you haven’t had lots of coffee today

MajorMischa · 02/05/2024 13:43

Pregnant women are recommended up to 200mg of caffeine per day (NHS). A tin of full fat coke has 33mg according to Coca-cola (I Googled).
Therefore you can have 6.06 cans per day OP 😉 Though obviously the sugar wouldn't be great for you and your teeth!

What?!

DoYouSmokePaul · 02/05/2024 13:45

The “full fat” Coke phrase is just a silly jokey play on the fact that milk etc are full fat. People don’t genuinely think there is fat in Coke. It is not literal. HTH

CountingCrones · 02/05/2024 13:46

There are few joys in early pregnancy, @Caitlin12x . If one of yours is a proper Coke, take full advantage

Paninaro94 · 02/05/2024 13:48

Enjoy it, OP. You won’t do yourself or baby any harm at all.

Really? Nothing you hate more? Seems a very specific hill to die on.

I say it all the time. Grin

Caitlin12x · 02/05/2024 13:51

Okay thank you

Ragamuffin8 · 02/05/2024 13:53

@Caitlin12x please could you explain your increase in brain cerebral fluid comment if you drink Coke Zero? Was that a joke?

If that was a side effect, they wouldn’t be able to sell it.

Caitlin12x · 02/05/2024 13:54

Sorry only I am not allowed any zero based drinks due to a brain issue so when I said cerebral fluid If I had any zero coke or Pepsi max etc the fluid in my brain that everyone has would increase rapidly unlike other people it's safe for if this makes sense x

OP posts:
Caitlin12x · 02/05/2024 13:58

Hey, so aspartame is in a lot of things but for me that is dangerous due to my brain condition If I had a small amount of zero coke or certain drinks that contain artificial sugar or sweeteners that would make MY cerebral fluid increase it won't happen to everyone just the ones who have this idiopathic intracranial hypertension

SparkyBlue · 02/05/2024 13:59

@Caitlin12x when I was really sick in pregnancy it was the only drink I craved and that I tolerated. Water made me gag all I could keep down was ice cold coke

Caitlin12x · 02/05/2024 13:59

I am sorry to hear that I had a week of sickness so far
