UTI out of hours

I'm feeling miserable and in pain with a UTI. I was having recurrent ones last year but this is my first since August after some investigations & trial treatment with the GP. Drinking lots of water and taken paracetamol.

Have been on the phone to 111 who will get a nurse to phone me within 24 hours. I suppose I'm not an urgent case (no fever, signs of kidney infection) but was in tears by the end of it. I tried phoning a local pharmacy but the Pharmacy First scheme is quite specific on situations where you qualify for them to be able to see you or prescribe antibiotics. The lady was sympathetic though.

Sorry not seeking advice exactly just understanding. The pain is horrible plus the anxiety/dread of another few days like this and not being rid of these infections after all.

Your case might be too serious but can you get some temporary relief from those drinks like Cystopurin?

Thanks for the suggestion. I do have some in the cupboard but wasn't finding they helped the last few times I tried them.

Ooo that’s nasty. Can you get a delivery of AZO tomorrow from Amazon? Really helps with the pain and burning weeing

You can order from boots and pick up within a hour or so. Would be tomorrow now though as I think you need to order before 1pm.

That’s annoying I thought the new pharmacy thing included UTIs!

I had this on a weekend before and they called me back within 2 hours, got me an appt and I was back that evening with the anti biotics after driving to a couple of places that were work open.
I think I said I had seen some
blood. Maybe call back if you have any extra symptoms since you called.

It's too late for this time, but next time ask your GP to give you some antibiotics to keep in case you need them.

Do you have a walk in near you? Ours is open to 8pm on Saturdays.

I did the boots pharmacy on line thingy this morning and got a prescription 2 hours later.

I used to have fairly frequent UTIs and always kept a stash of D Mannose tablets in the cupboard. I found that they helped with the worst of the symptoms until I could get some antibiotics and I could get on with my day without constantly thinking about the pain! I’d take the tablet with a little bit of water, wait 30 mins and then have a big glass of water.

I have around 1 UTI a year nowadays, and always rush to the health food shop to get some D Mannose as soon as I can feel the infection coming on.

I found this brand the best: https://www.sweetcures.co.uk/products/waterfall-d-mannose-tablets-1000mg

Thank you, I appreciate the suggestions.

Just had a callback offering Out of hours face to face 11pm. But can't get there this late. Luckily I'm feeling a bit better than I was earlier, although not right still. From my notes they wanted to see me and test a urine sample I think. I will see how I am tomorrow. Wish there was somewhere closer! I'm in a town not that cut off. Nearest 2 walk ins both a bit of a drive and wasn't sure they could help.

Will have a look at those too.
