Problems with the combined pill help!

Hi everyone,

I used to take the pill as a teenager and during most of my twenties until I was 27. I was on microgynon and don't remember having any issues with this. I came off and had my daughter and then I didn't go back on it and was mostly alright for a year and half. I then started experiencing gradually worsening pms symptoms to the point where it became unbearable and other symptoms such as severe ovulation pain and cramps before period. So I went back on the pill in January. My GP gave me rigevidon which I believe is the generic version of microgynon, I seemed ok for first month but then started experiencing poor sleep, hot flushes and lots of acid reflux and heartburn. So after my third withdrawal bleed, I switched to gedarel 20. I seemed to immediately feel sick and heartburn and acid reflux symptoms continued to worsen. I've just had my withdrawal bleed and started taking it again late on Thursday night. I woke up yesterday feeling "off" - achy, sick generally unwell. Then this morning I've woken up with bad tummy, almost like a tummy bug. Could this be caused by the pill or is it more likely I just have a horrible bug? It seems quite a coincidence I started to feel so unwell after restarting the pill. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi I've just posted something similar. I started a new pill called milinette in April. Since then I've had two lots of 'tummy bug' type things. Last month it was painful cramps and diarrhea and now I'm experiencing diarrhea and bloating , especially after eating. The symptoms started on Thursday after starting my 7 day break. Not sure if this means anything.. also having hot flushes. I can't deicide if I've had two bugs in short space of time or if it is the pill. I feel confused with it as the symptoms haven't been a constant whilst taking..almost like flare ups.

The pill is horrible for me. I switched to mini pill and it’s given me my life back. No bleeding/ cramps/ pms. It’s worked amazingly for me. May be an option?

Sorry for coming to the conversation late. I've experienced the same. A couple of months ago I was put on Yasmin pill to deal with ever increasing PMS that left me feeling worrying low in mood. I hadn't noticed at first but this coincided with my chronic gastritis becoming really bad. Likewise, I've felt unwell the whole time and so tired. I've had a sore throat and hoarseness to the point of losing my voice. Prescribed 40mg omeprazole. Now that I'm almost certain I've made the connection, I plan to come off the pill and consider alternatives, in addition to continuing a low acid diet.
