Periods after weaning - when do they become regular!?

Hey,

I stopped BF my daughter at 6 months - I weaned within 2 weeks and was exclusivley BF before. Periods came back 2 weeks later, then followed by 2 other periods, 28 day cycle like before, just heavier bleeding and lasting longer.

Now I am due my 4th cycle since stopping. This month I have had shooting pains in my cervix and overies midcycle for around 10 days, I have started spotting red and brown discharge 5 days before my period is due (mostly after going for a number 2) and no actual period to be seen. My bowels are messed up also but could be due to iron tablets. I am not pregnant. I have also been struggling with very low mood.

I have had in this time a:
Transvagainal scan - normal
Bloods - normal
Internal exam - normal
Vaginal swab - normal
Urine sample - normal
and I am about to get a second round of bloods and a stool sample.

I want to start trying for a baby and I am very worried that something is terribly wrong! Has anyone else experienced this? As you can tell I have been back and forth to the doctors so many times!
