IBS causing vomiting?

Hi all

Went to GP yesterday as I have had 4 seperate instances in the last 5 weeks of nausea/vomiting/diarrhea (upto 15 times a day!!) I tend to vomit in morning 6/7 times for 2-3 hours then feel better after a sleep, stomach seems to settle, then next day the diarrhoea comes back?

I had a very traumatic EMCS 5 weeks ago (placental abruption, put to sleep for delivery) so obviously I understand with already having IBS a traumatic event can cause flare ups. GP prescribed omeprazole and mebeverine. He said if it happens again he will do a stool sample.

initially I felt good after the appt that it wasn’t anything more sinister but now I’m doubting that it’s just IBS? He did check temp, my abdomen etc.

anyone ever had vomiting with IBS??

My daughter had it with Crohn's.
I believe IBD is often worst in the mornings. Might be worth pushing for a fecal calprotectin test?

I have had IBS for donkeys and it doesn't happen to me (touching wood here as am emetophobic and don't want to jinx this) but a colleague was recently told she had IBS by the doctor and she regularly vomits a lot when her bowels play up.
